The Ridgecrest Community Light Opera and Theatre Association puts on 3 productions each year, (musicals and non-musicals), as well as several events and dinner theatre shows.

The Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra is a 60-80 member professional orchestra that brings a variety of performances to the community throughout the year.

Whiskey Flat Days is a four day festival that brings visitors back in time to the gold rush days of Kernville, back when it was known as Whiskey Flat. The whole family can have fun with wild west activities like rodeo, line dancing, gold panning, wood carving, gunfighter shows, country and bluegrass concerts, and costume contests, not to mention the usual festival carnival rides and food and vendor booths.

The Isabella Lake Fishing Derby is one of the largest, if not the largest, amateur trout fishing competitions in the world. The derby is held at Isabella Lake, about an hour west of Ridgecrest, which is one of California's biggest freshwater lakes. Prizes and fun are sure to be had by fishermen of all ages.

The Lilac Festival in Pine Mountain Club in the Sequoia National Forest has taken place annually since 1982 during the height of the blooming lilac plants. This 2-day festival starts with aerobatic skydivers and proceeds with a parade, arts and crafts vendors, live music, food, pony rides, and even helicopter rides for aerial views of the bright purple flowers.

The Kern County Nut Festival celebrates the pistachios, walnuts, pecans, and almonds grown in Kern County, and was started as a way to benefit the Kern County Museum and other non-profits. Despite being a relatively new annual festival, the nut-themed activities are sure to keep it a raging success. There is live music, arts and crafts vendors, contests, dancing, nut-themed foods, cooking demonstrations, and more "nutty" puns than one can imagine.
